case 336-504 oil pump

bought a kit for a front mount pump for my 336 from an ex. case dealer, it looks like the 504 pump, has an opening with an O ring on the side, but on my 336 that hole is just somewhat snug up against the block, I don't know if the 504 is different? as in that's where the oil supply intake is? My pump also has a large intake hole in the back, then a slightly smaller hole im hoping is the supply, but it seems oil pressure is coming out this hole with a square O ring, somethings wrong,, he sent me a case book, this is supposed to be a kit for the 336 from what I can gather, it shows the same pump, with the same hole and O ring just like mine,, ? guy I bought it from is likely too old to gather much info, plus he's in canada
