I have a JD 410 "straight" that dad was using in the woods to get a bucket load of black dirt. He drove into the dirt with the bucket down, backed up and moved over and took another scoop. When he did that, it blew one of the hydraulic lines, I think up near the pump or along the front frame rails, I could ask him to be sure if needed. I wasn't there when he did it. He went and got a new line, put it on, and made sure it was full of hyd oil. Then he was backing up out of where he was digging, and after he went about 40 feet, it just stopped moving. No bang, no snap, just quit moving. We put it in neutral, left it running and pulled it up to the shop. The "clutch" pedal moves freely it seems, and comes back all the way to the top. Both shifters are fully in gear. The rods and linkages attached to the FnR lever appear to be moving correctly all the way down and into that little control valve. It's always worked fine, never slipped or anything like that. It had been setting for about 10 years before we got it 5 years or so ago, and our main problem with other stuff has been blown hoses and O-rings from the old, hard original ones being brittle. What's inside that little control valve? Is there something in there that could be plugged by a piece of o ring or hose? Do you have to drain the hyd oil to get it off? I had all the screens out last fall, and they were very clean, so at least I feel I'm good there. All the other hydraulics and steering are working fine. Any ideas where I should be looking? I used to work on heavy equipment, but this old girl is way before my time, and I know they have a bit of a funny hyd set up on them on the straight models. Thanks guys for any ideas
