how is the best way to remove old seals from a hydraulic cylinder? on a 580b backhoe

pull the cylinder apart screw the end out pull shaft remove nut and piston seals [rings] slide end gland shaft seal is in side . the seal you can see is just the dust and dirt seal dose nothing for leaking the real seal is in the middle of the end cap
