Melroe skid steer

I have a Melroe {bobcat?} 444 I guess and I cannot get it to move forward or backwards. Is there some kind of adjustment somewhere or?? Was working fine ,got the engine to finely run right and now the thing will not move?? HELP

not really familiar with your model but some earlier bobcats were belt driven. they had been known to break or come off the pulleys. just saying

Take off the variable speed drive hydraulic line. Then take off the big nut behind it and the washers. Of course you have to pull the guard off the frame first to do this. After pulling the nut, you should be able to slide the outer half of the drive, the outer pulley half, off. You might have to do some wiggling to get it by the tire. Then you should see some allen headed set screws on the remaining half. Loosen them and the other half should slide off. There is a square key under the remaining half.

I've read there is supposed to be a snap ring of some sort holding the inner half on, but my 444 never had one by the time I got it.

Got the outer plate off,not sure at present if shive is pressed on or?? Its a 500 by the way,not 444? Thnks for all the replies, will put them to use and give u an update

I believe the main (only?) difference between the 444, 500 and 600 was the engine that was used. My manual covers all 3 with notes on the different engines.

Got the shive off, put a new 2 step key in, now waiting on new drive belt. Pretty expensive I should say!!! Will see how all goes in a week or so?? Thnks for all the replys

Yes it was,it has a key with a shoulder on it ,the top is 1/4 and the bottom is about 3/8 ,now belt is stretched so ordered a new one. So, will see? Thnks for the replies
