Cat, 941 B. Hydraulic track adjusters. Right side took grease and worked too good. Had to let some grease out. Left side absolutely refuses to take any grease. Checked fitting it is ok. but cylinder for adjustment is not getting grease. Loosened bleed off screw and get no grease out. Don't use loader much, had it about 15 years and this is the first time in needed to adjust track tension. Tracks were near new when I bought it. What am I missing? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Swede

The filler valve is probably blocked, slacken off the release valve a few turns and remove the filler valve, see the grease nipple is not blocked, remove it from the valve and put it on the grease gun and see if the grease goes through it,if ok put it back in the valve, the valve, put the gun on again and see if grease goes through the valve, the bottom en of the valve is pressed in to the valve housing and the grease should push it out when you pump the gun,so you need to catch all the bits that is in there,I usually put the valve into a plastic can, retrieve all the parts and wash them, put them back in the right order and you should have a working valve.

Thanks for your reply. The zerk was brazed into the valve. Grease did go through the valve. I was using a battery operated grease gun. It kept bypassing. It is supposed to deliver 10000 PSI. I finally got my lever operated gun out. Put a 3 foot piece of pipe on the handle and went for broke. It did finally break loose, take grease and I was able to adjust the track. Thanks, Swede

mine seizes up sometimes--i have found that opening the release valve and puling the idler back and inch or two frees up the rod and then it can be adjusted out. I pull the idler back by putting a thick rod on the sprocket teeth and backing up.
