D3b fuel filter dozer

What is the correct fuel filter for a D3b dozer with a 3204 engine.
I'm thinking the one on it might be wrong.
The dozer fires right up, throttle it up and it seams to be sucking air .
I've been told there is a small filter in the inlet fuel line below the primer but it's not, not even space for one.

Usually the 1P2299 is the filter we use, equivalent Baldwin BF970 or Napa FIL3352.

10-4 thanks. I bought a six 3331 and when I was installing it it felt as
if the threads didn't match like they should, so I am thinking it's the
wrong filter and maybe sucking air at the filter

Thanks for your help.

No it will not suck air in at the filter as the fuel is pushed through it,if the filter was not seated it would leak, check the gauze in the banjo bolt on the supply line going into the transfer pump, remove the banjo bolt to access the gauze.

I don't know on the filter, but if it has a plunger style primer pump, air can get sucked past the seals on it, if they are worn out.

I've had to replace a couple of them over the years for that very reason.

I also had problems with fuel flow from the tank--the parts book shows a screen at the bottom of the tank over the fuel line but have never figured how to get to it--so I reverse blow the fuel line from the transfer pump and that seems to solve the fuel starvation problem
