Glow plugs wire break

The glow plug terminal has broken off where it connects to the wire on the harness on my d6c 3306 caterpillar engine. I crimped a terminal connector on and attached it to the harness but it kicks out the circuit breaker! What am I doing wrong?THANKS in advance!!

It is grounding out somewhere. Is the wiring inside of the tube rubbed and touching on the tube or is the new connector touching the valve cover?

The conductor from the glow plugs to the harness is typically surrounded by a metal sleeve and the actual connector is molded into a piece of insulating material.

That said, insure that your crimp on connector is crimped to the conductor alone, and not touching the metal, outer sleeve, in any way.

Not touching anything that I can see. Do you
think that the terminal connector has to be
copper?THANKS for the response.

No it doesn't have to be copper. Again, it's grounding out somewhere. If it wasn't doing it before you crimped the new connector on, it's probably grounding out at the new connector.
