Track tensioner rebuild?

Anybody have the procedure for doing the track tensioner seals on a d6c? I have a General idea from looking at other old forums for simular machines. Can I use the machiene itself to pull the tensioner back for removal? Any specialty tools needed? Hesitant to take it on, but needs done. I have the seals already. Thanks for any info!!

You do not have to remove the recoil assembly to replace the adjuster seal or remove the cylinder from the recoil, open the relief valve, put a pin or an old tooth in the sprocket and reverse back that will slacken the track, split the track, loosen the 4 bolts from the adjuster cylinder flange and then pull the idler forward, pull the piston out of the cylinder, note the way the seal is mounted, replace the seal and ware ring, put a new o'ring between the flanges, push the idler back and bolt it up,join the track and adjust it up job done.
