Adjust Injector Pump 850D Case Dozer

I had the engine in my Case 850D dozer overhauled about 2 years ago. Also had the injector pump rebuilt and new injectors.

Dozer runs great. No misses and has good power.

It is a 6 cylinder non turboed engine.

I haven't put 50 hours on the dozer during these last 2 years.

We put it to work last weekend and again today. It has ran 8.5 hours today and burnt 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Tank holds 38 gallons. It is burning too much fuel and also is smoking excessively. Does not burn oil. I am not where the dozer is, so I can't tell you what brand the injector pump is.

I think the injector pump needs to be adjusted to lessen the amount of fuel it is putting through it.

Can you tell me how to adjust the pump??

This may not be worded exactly correct in mechanics terms, so please forgive my inability to use the correct terms.

Thanks for any help or thoughts.
