I finally got up with my buddy yesterday evening. He said he had seen issues with those machines throwing those same type codes before. He said that with the scan tool it should show the code in more detail, in other words it would say something like it won't calibrate due to a slow response, etc.

Ultimately he said that to really do anything beyond what you've done now, other than checking every pin, in every connection, for moisture, bad connection, etc (if you haven't done that already) that you'll have to have the computer scan tool to go any further.

Depending on the exact model he also said you may need the tool to do a proper calibration. He said the older ones would sometimes calibrate through the machines computer, but there are some that are scan tool calibrated only.

I wish I could give better news than that, but with the electronic crap on these newer machines it's gotten to where it all falls back on having that scanner to do much beyond the basics more times than not.

thanks wayne, i had bobcat come out yesterday, the owner of this machine is pretty livid with all the problems he had. the tech found out yesterday that the actuator they sold me for this machine is the wrong one. they brought the correct one out today and replaced it, no charge. whew!!! it was over 700 for that actuator. but alas, still no go. we are looking at the new control stick that was put on to see if that one is correct. i did go over all the wiring connections, what a pia. i need to get some shrink pills to fit inside of this critter. geez, i'd hate to work on a late model machine with all the new super duper computer stuff. ya know, we really need self driving computer controlled cars and tractors and such.........what could possibly go wrong!!!!!

I feel your pain on what a PITA it is to work on a skid steer in general, much less the newer ones that are crammed even more full of electronic crap than the old ones ever thought about being. I was at our local dealership the other day and looked in the back of a new machine. I wouldn't have one, especially in a few years. There are hydraulic lines that look like the engine is going to have to come out to even get a wrench on the fitting when they blow.

That aside, if they gave you the wrong actuator, it stands to reason they screwed up the controller as well. Granted it was a truck, but I ran into a deal a couple of years ago with an F550 that took me several trips to get all the right parts. Basically they had so many different variations available, that the guys in the parts department had to read the 'fine print' on every part to insure they got the right pieces. I don't know if Bobcat has gotten quite that bad, but it wouldn't surprise me either.

Ultimately, all I can say is good luck. Problems like this make me curious, so when ya'll get it figured out please let me know what they find. In the meantime if I can offer anything beyond what little I have so far, just let me know and I'll do what I can.
