Case 1835B with 188D engine Help

I have a case 1835B skid steer with a 188D engine .The other day is started to run bad and smoke(white smoke) so bad the mechine would disappear in a cloud of smoke.
well everyone i talk too said it was the injector pump .So i had it rebuilt and put new injectors in it .
Had a hell of a time getting it all timed right .Well i got it all back to gather and running .
Now the problem is it running real rich (white smoke ) and it runs great for 20mins and the it starts to lose power and quiets.
I am wondering if i have done something wrong when timing. On the fly wheel is some lines and the #10 stamped in to it I brought it to the #10 and then moved it to the 8deg mark lined up the cam mark with arrow and the injector pump the other side of the arrow and the lines in the window on the injector pump are lined up .The injector pump is move away from the motor as far as it goes If i move it in toward the motor it will start to run real bad and smoke real real bad .So whats wrong
I dont know if this matters before all this started the water pump went out and the motor over heated ,it know has a new water pump.

Sounds like you don't have enough compression to burn off the fuel. Like stated, probably warped the head when it overheated, or possibly even scored a piston. Did a Ford backhoe engine that ran great and "only got overheated a little". It scored every piston. Started and ran great, just lost power the longer it ran and white smoked (raw fuel smoke). When it's running, crack one injector line at a time, see if it clears up at all. If so, you have problems with that (those) cylinders. Not sure how you took the pump off, but if you turned the engine over until the timing lines in the inspection window of the pump lined up, and removed and reinstalled the pump without turning the engine over, and as long as the timing lines were lined back up when you put it back together, it should be pretty darn close. It wouldn't run 180? out, and would more than likely just run poorly if you were off too much.

Often Black SMOKE is OVER FUELD or Lack of air, BLUE SMOKE BURNING OIL,WHITE SMOKE is often COOLANT in the CUMBUSTION area "Cylinder":

Lets YT know what you discover please:

You sure the diesel is not contaminated or the filters, by the rule of thumb the pump mounted correctly with the matching marks lined up should be in the middle of the banana slots,if not the pump drive gear is either out a tooth or the timing train has an issue, when checking the timing make sure you bring it to the 8° mark in the direction of rotation,if you pass the mark go back 180° and come up again, with the timing marks matched up check that the return line from the top of the pump is not blocked, check the injector lines are not crossed should be 1-3-4-2 in direction of rotation,to check the head gasket, loosen the fan belt so it's not driving the water pump, fill the rad to the top, start the engine and watch the coolant,if there are lots of bubbles coming up through the coolant it's a sure sign compression is getting in to the coolant and it would overheat fairly quick,it would probably run ok as the compression would be higher than the coolant pressure, take off the oil filler cap and see what the blow back is like.

White smoke comes from coolant in the combustion chamber. You stated that the engine had overheated due to a failed water pump. Overheating can blow the head gasket, allowing coolant to get into the combustion chamber. If the engine gets too hot, that can warp the head, or @ the worst, crack it. Hopefully, you don't have a cracked head, but it sure sounds like you are burning coolant. Maybe a blown head gasket. I am curious to know what you find. I'll be glad to give you any advice that I can. I have been a diesel mechanic for about 20 years and have repaired many farm tractors and construction equipment. I have a 530 that has this same engine in it. Let me know what you find.

I I worded this wrong it was a bluish white smoke with a heavy diesel smell to it like diesel exhaust The type that causes your eyes the water type smoke

Are you saying its the same now as it was before the pump and injectors was done?,you have to be sure that the timing is correct, take off the rocker cover, bar the engine around to the 8° mark, check that the valves on #1 cylinder are closed,ie that both valves have clearance,if not turn the engine another 360° now the engine is on compression stroke on #1 cylinder and the match marks in the pump should be lined up.I take it that you have replaced the fuel filters and the fuel is clean, the return line from the pump is clear as well as the adapter that screws into the pump.if that all checks out the fuel injection can be taken out of the equation, now mark the crank pulley and the timing case, put a second mark on the pulley directly opposite 180° away, set the valve clearance on #1 cylinder to .014",bar the engine around to the second mark on the pulley and set the clearance on #3,put a mark on the flywheel, turn the engine again to the 8° mark and set the clearance on #4,turn the engine again to the mark you put on and set #2. that's the tappets set,if none of the valves were too tight you can presume they are ok,rocker cover back on.if the blow back is normal,we are at the cylinder head,if there were no bubbles in the coolant its unlikely the head gasket,if there was bubbles it can be anything from the gasket to a crack or a pitted liner.

Here is what it is doing.

Yes it is better. Before the injector rebuild it would run good and then start missing and blowing a large amount of bluish white smoke. Let it idle for a while and sometimes it would clear up and be good to go again until the point where it never would clear up that's how I got to the injector pump. I had it running the other day still blowing a fair amount of blue smoke if I loosen up the injector pump and push it in towards the motor it Start to miss real bad and wants to quit . I pulled out as far as It Will go away from the motor it starts running better still blowing Bluish smoke and has a slight miss. Also can you tell me is the number one cylinder the farthest from the water pump that's the cylinder I've been using to set the timing . On the fly wheel the only number I can find is 10 and there is a set of lines before and after the 10 I am assuming the lines to the right of the 10 is where the 8? Mark should be. Standing behind the machine looking at the flywheel that would be the right side.

The number one cylinder is the front cylinder next to the radiator if you have timed it to the one next to the flywheel you are one full turn out, when you turn the engine in the direction it runs and you come to the 10° mark go on to the second line that's the 8° mark before TDC. if you are a turn out you will have to remove the pump again to alter it.

Well I got it running first problem was I was timing it off the wrong cylinder and a little gasket on the window on the injector pump had a tear in it . I fix that started right up still smokes a little but nothing like it used to. The only problem I have now is when it's cold I have to give it a shot of starting fluid to get it to start once it's warmed up it starts every time

Was it starting before this saga, usually those engines are easy to start and it is not a good idea to be using starting fluid,I don't know how cold it gets where you are,is the battery good, give it a good bit of work and the smoke may clear as it could be coming from unburnt fuel in the muffler,it will also bring the battery up,if it was starting without any aid before there has to be a reason why it won't do the same now.

New battery and stater .I am in ohio and it's in the 80s ,I hit the key and it turns over fast but just dont want to fire .two
shots of stater fluid and she starts right up.
