ok, i finally got the bobcat to throw a code. 32-31, according to the manual it is 32(ahc) 31(tilt actuator fault) withe the machine running and all ready to go, as soon as i operate the bucket curl the bucket started to roll and then the light came on and locked out the hydraulics. with it still running i pressed and held the headlamp button and code showed up. if you first start the machine, and just check codes, none are present. it seems it resets itself with the machine shut off. dont know if that helps any or not.

I looked and I don't have anything manual wise with that control setup on it. You know, now that I say that, I've got stuff everywhere right now, but I think I've got a T160 manual somewhere that might have some of this stuff in it. I'll look again tomorrow and see if I can find it.

That aside, based on what I have been able to find online, it sounds to me like there is a problem with the actual solenoid/actuator that moves the valve spool rather than the joystick that the dealership changed.

The way to check this is to swap the connectors on the solenoids. Looking at the valve block, the upper one is the tilt, and the lower one is the boom lift. Swap the connectors and see if the problem/codes change. The way I understand it the code should change to show the lift function is now causing the problem.

On the other hand, if the tilt now works, and the lift stops working, it means the controller/joystick is the problem, and not the actuator.

This is the way I am understanding what I have been able to find, and I may be wrong in the way things should work when swapping the connectors. Even so I know you get the idea and, with the manual, should be able to understand a bit more as you get into it.

Holler back and let me know if this helps, and what you find.

thanks wayne!!! that gives me a direction to pursue!!!! i will let you know what happens!!!
