780 case backhoe engine

336 cummins, wondering if the crankshaft gear that runs the oil pump can be replaced, its toast. It's welded on with two inch welds. or where one might purchase the gear if its possible to replace. thanx

The engine is a Case 336BD or 336BDT if its a turbo not a Cummins,the gear you are looking for goes on the middle of the crank to drive the balance shaft oil pump type,that gear is part of the crank and is not sold separate,you may be able to get a used one from someone with a junk crank,as I never changed that gear or know what it involves regarding alignment and balance,there was a front driven oil pump setup but I again cant remember will it fit to that block.
