Radiator/oil cooler 850 D Case Dozet

Never posted here before. Just posted this in Tractor Talk and remembered about Dozer/Crawler portion of this site.

Today the oil cooler side of my radiator on Case 850D dozer started leaking again. It is leaking where tubes go into bottom tank. Same spot as before. Happened about 8 years ago. Took it to repair shop and had it fixed.

Pulled the radiator/oil cooler today and have it all cleaned up to take to shop on Monday.

If the repair guy says it can't be fixed what are my options?? Is there an aftermarket radiator/oil cooler that is available?? Anyone know of a salvage yard where I might find one?? What are your thoughts of buying one from a salvage yard??

Don't use this old dozer much anymore. From what I can gather off the Internet this is going to be expensive. I live in west central Arkansas, no salvage yards here, but I can travel to get one if necessary.

Thanks for any input.

I think there were two types, one had screw in adapters with an o'ring and the other had soldered in nipples,I would do what you are doing and get it repaired, when putting it back on the tractor make sure the hoses are not under stress and also the engine and radiator mountings are good,if the filter is on the return line make sure it is changed regular as if it clogged it can build up pressure, those tractors also had a thermo bypass valve on the feed side that should be working correctly.

That thermo valve controls the oil temperature returning from the cooler,it makes the oil heat up quicker from cold then it opens as the oil gets hot same as the engine cooling.it is on the return from the top of the cooler, there will be breathers on the tranny see they are all open so there will be no build up of pressure.
