Blowing out fuel lines

Having my injector pump rebuilt and they told me I should clean out the return line as it could be clogged up by pieces from the damaged pump.

Can I use a compressor to blow air into the cap at the front end of the return line that runs to each cylinder and then to the pump and gas tank? Would that also blow air down each line toward the pump? Would it be bad for the injectors?

Thanks

I wrapped a rag around the return line at the injector pump and I blew compressed air into the tank side of the return line. Found hard black particles. Guess they must be the retaining weight that I am told disintegrated. I changed the rag several times until no more particles came out and also took the cap off the end of the return line up at the top of the engine and a few particles came out up there.Does this sound good or do I need to run some kind of cleaner through there? Should I be worried about any of the other lines? I am anxious to get this injector pump back on.

Have an extra fuel filter or 2 on hand..
ALL those flex ring pieces in the tank will eventually try to make their way back into the system.
There may be or should be a screen on the end of the pick up tube in the tank.. at some point it may become clogged w/ the small pieces of flex ring.
99% of folks just put on the reman pump & go.. never giving it a second thought.. & it works out just fine.
