Guys,
New to the forum here, been reading thru some posts and seems like there's some great folks on her along with some really good information Looking forward to getting to know you guys.
My question is regarding my old Cat 79 U D3 with a 3204 engine
Last year it threw a rod thru the block, I think the oil cooler clogged and it lost lubrication to the drivers side of the motor but haven't torn it down yet to be sure. The machine also needs new chains and various other undercarriage parts. Just before the motor blew we had just replaced the steering clutches, brakes and rebuilt the steering clutch valves.
What's the best route to finding a replacement motor?
A guy says he has one in Texas with low hours but its arrangement number is slightly different than mine.
The replacement has a number 4N0100
Mine has an arrangement number 4N0169
Is that a match?
Any thoughts or tips for engine replacement on these machines would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
