Final drive went out on this little Bobcat X320 excavator. Seal went and then gears went in drive.
This is a Kayaba drive that is no longer supported by Bobcat. Need to buy newer updated drive from them and oh by the way the update is faster than old drive so please buy two says Bobcat. Just $8k for two.
So what went searching, found a drive and now excavator no longer drives straight. Over a 50 distance the excavator was off. Enter by 27 ft same going both forward and reverse.
One test I ran was lifting up side of machine and count revolutions of track over 60secs. Ran test twice. Newer drive did 16.75 revs in 60 secs while drive( drive on other track) did 19.25 revs in 60 secs.
This excavator did run straight w old drive on there.
So it is either bad pump or wrong gear reduction
Where to find right final drive?
How much can speed vary as drive wears?
3000 hrs vs 1 hr drive?
How close in speed would you expect new drive to be vs old drive?
