my 780ck engine lost oil pressure and locked up, wondering if a 680 engine would work, read they are the same cubic inch,, but no turbo,, could you just add the turbo?

You are having some bad luck with that machine, the early 680 had the 267 engine and the later ones the 336BD which is in the 780 as well with a turbo,if the engine is a 336BD you can fit the turbo from the other one,you will have to change the injector pump and injectors as well as they differ from the none turbo.
Good luck

that was some terrible luck, one time I noticed it, no oil pressure after starting,, shut it down, beat on the gauge, started it, was fine,, guess it wasn't the gauge. I had managed to get the backhoe working, problem was in the loader spool valve,, outriggers still aren't working too good, just kinda lifted the machine with the hoe, then place the outriggers, lol.
