twin engine dozer in the movies

LILIES of the FIELD movie ,1963 , has Sidney Poitier spinning a dual engined dozer around ,. the engines are reverse engineered to have doubled exhaust pipe in the center , and probably the injector pump to outside ,.. it has matching dual radiator grills to the rear of operator ,.. personally i have never seen such a dozer before ,,. but i would bet someone here has and knows the manufacturer /..

Allis Chalmers also made a twin 6-71 powered dozer. It would be easy to configure a pair of 6-71's with the ex manifolds to the center and the blowers outboard on both sides.

Kid that I grew up with liked to run the Euclid crawlers, especially in cold weather. They could reverse the radiator fan and blow warm air onto the operator. On one of his jobs in the mountains, he had to line up the dozer just right, drive over the edge and push rock to the bottom. He couldn't steer going down, just let it go with the rocks. When he got to the bottom, he had to drive the empty dozer back up to the top of the mountain to make another pass. Two trips up and down the side of the mountain and he was done for the day.

That is a TC12 Euclid, 2 6-71's, two transmissions, quite the rig. Easy to change blower location or rotation on a 6-71 or any 2 stroke Detroit for that matter.

And what Alley Cat dozer might that be as it does not ring any bells with me ?? and i thought i knew dozers as where i worked many years back if it came on tires or tracks it was setting on one of the company's lots . We had Euc's I H , A/C's and Cat's from D 4 size and up nothing smaller . I also thought that it was the 6-110 engine in the Euc's As here again we had all sizes and i can tell you for a fact that they were a pain in the drain to move just like the four double side by side D 8's or the tandem 9's . If it was BIg and new the old man had to have them and the equipment sales man made that company there first stop for a guaranteed sale of something new and the trinkets were always passed out to anyone at the shop , belt buckles watch fobbs hats toy models . You should have seen the big board room with all the toy models on shelf's .

If there was ever a machine that should have been seen and not heard that was the TC12,as I remember them they were not very reliable, there were only a few here in the UK used as push tractors it was hard to get a full shift out of them without something going wrong, standing joke about the Euc emblem that it was pointing to the workshop, many the so called machine men got caught out when they had to adjust the tracks ???.
