Hydraulic cylinder repair manual

I would like to find a repair manual for rebuilding hydraulic cylinders like might have been used for tech school training. If anybody has one I
would appreciate the title and author so I can try to find one or have one you could part with. Somebody must have written a decent book that
covers this subject. Thanks!

I recall seeing a book on hydraulics by or somehow involving John deere, was written very much as a trade school type book. It talked about theory and also cylinder designs and repair. Unfortunately it didn't cover all the different designs, I doubt any book does, I have done hundreds of cylinders over the years at home and work and can't count the different gland, piston types, seal types etc. So many variations.

Markct hit the nail on the head. There are so many different designs, it would be nearly impossible to have a book that included them all.

Ultimately it pretty much comes down to one simple fact. If your competent enough to be rebuilding one, you should be competent enough to look at it, and figure out how it comes apart. Once apart, installing the seals will be pretty much the same across the board.
