I was looking thru my parts book for sprockets for t6
series 61 and they give 2 choices "cutaway" and
"not cutaway" can anyone tell me what this means?
Thanks for your help.

Do you know if any of any type is available? Back in the day, the sprockets were available as one piece complete, or just the ring and you cut to fit your old one to the inside of the new one, weld on. You could buy segments but they are weld on too. And lastly they had weld in cup pieces that do not extend to the top of the tooth. Each sprocket can be worn totally different than the other based on several things, first being a tight or loose track. How sloppy is the front idler, if sloppy the chain will drag on the side of the sprocket and one or both sides of the rollers. That's about half of what you need to know or check. Close up pics of the sprockets from both sides and the top would tell you most of what's happening. If the track pin bushings are worn thru or most the way with a crack from side to side then you would be wasting good sprockets with trashed chains...........chuck.

Jp, Standard sprocket is full width for the complete tooth. Cutaways are relieved in the root of the tooth making the root narrower than the rest. The cutaways were used mostly for snow and ice so a build up did not occur. Standard are best choice if you have an option. I don't think either are available anymore unless you are lucky and find some hid away.

I have a T6, replaced sprockets, tracks and chains this winter. A place here in Central Mo has quite a few parts available for these machines. Zimmerman Tractor, near Versailles, Mo is a good source. Phone 573-378-7210

I spoke with a Berco dealer some time back and they said the chain is NLA. I think the best bet would be to start researching small tractors (like a D-3 for instance) and find something with a 25 tooth sprocket and buy the chain and sprocket for that machine. Prefer something with a bolt-on sprocket, then just burn the center out or trim the spokes and graft it onto the T-6 hub. Assuming the other dimensions of the chain fit the TD-6 rollers and idlers, there is also the possibility of the roller frame being too long or not long enough. Meaning, the chain you buy may have to be customized a little bit with the aid of a track press. If the chain were still available, the sprocket would be the easy part. As a starting point, the chain pitch is 6.125"
