1990 cat d3c dozer undercarriage help

Hey guys, I am new here, I am looking at a 1990 d3c dozer with a long track for sale. The price is 14,000, which seems fair. It has 3000 hrs on it, and I had the guy do some work before the sale including new idlers, 1 new yoke, and new top rollers. Exhaust and of course, recover the seat. I was wondering if some pictures may gain me further advice from you as to whether I am on the right track. Thanks! Any advice would help. The pin bushings don't feel to have worn much, but I haven't measured. Here's some pics as he work was being done..

The best thing you can do is to measure all the track components, then compare the measurements to the specifications of what they are new. Maybe your local dealer can provide those specs. Don't eyeball measure, though you can see some obvious wear with some components, best to measure all.

Also worth paying a heavy equipment mechanic or someone similar to look the machine over and give you an assessment of its condition. I've operated quite a few D3's of various series, nice little tractors for what they can do.

My book says the D3C has a pitch of 6.125",the link hight 88mm,bushing OD 50mm,the track ware is checked by stretching the track (most guys put something in the sprocket like a pin or bar and back up a bit)you measure the track across four links, that's five pins from center to center, new it measures 622mm,25% worn 625mm,50% worn 628mm,75% worn 632mm 100% worn 637mm,at a glance the gap between the pads or the position of the idler can be a lay mans way of getting an idea of the condition of the U/C.
