I just recently bought a td6 and I can't seem to get the gas motor to run. I replaced the points, condensor, distributor cap, coil. I have gas getting to the motor, but it will just keep firing, but will not seem to start. Fire comes about 6 inches out of the pipe, and hits really hard, but then won't really fire for a couple revolutions. If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like the timing is out,are you sure the plug leads are on correctly,I would be checking them, the firing order 1-3-4-2 in direction of rotor rotation, establish #1,in direction of rotation #3 is next then #4 and next #2.

Yes, the rotor turns opposite of the direction the gassers turn. From the seat of the tractor the rotation is CCW. Let us know if that doesn't solve it.

We went out, looked over everything, looked at the wiring, tried adjusting the timing and it still wouldn't do anything, so then we got to looking, and realized that all of the plug wires were off one spot, we put them all how they were supposed to be, and it fired right up after that and runs good, and we eventually got the diesel to run as well. I appreciate Your help.

Thanks, Garrett
