I have a older JCB backhoe 3cx mk1 I think is the proper title. Anyway when I put it into forward it takes about 20 seconds for it to engage and when t does it doesn't seem to have any power but it is find in reverse. The manual says the shuttle oil is T/C oil type c3 can anyone tell me what this is in any other kind of oil is it motor oil, tranny fluid etc. and what numbers ei: 10W40? Also I am looking for an exhaust manifold it as the Leyland engine 4/98 nt. Thanks

The original oil for that shuttle was ATF,any generic HyTrans oil will do fine, about the slow forward, secure the machine and go under it in front of the left back wheel, have a second person in the seat, look up and get the helper to move the forward reverse lever, see that the cable is moving the valve, look closely at the valve, get the helper to press the clutch disconnect, you will see that a lever that presses the valve in under spring pressure will jump out when the clutch disconnect is pressed,on the end of the valve there is an adjusting bolt, with no pressure on the disconnect pedal there should be 10th clearance between the lever and the adjusting screw, push the valve in till it goes solid, the 10th gap should be between head of the bolt and the lever that pushes it,check all the linkage as it possible it can be worn,if still no joy a pressure test would be in order.

Forgot to mention the oil level, machine on level ground, loader bucket raised and secure.engine on low idle, pull dipstick and wipe, reinstall it and pull it again, check level,if low top it up through the dipstick tube slowly to the full mark, job done.
