h3 Allis chalmers and ac 400 winch

Anyone have any info on the main clutch and reverser, I think my reverser is slipping, and also who made the ac 400 winch on these machine...I need to know we're to fill.with oil and the control parts of this unit.. also looking for a motor for.the dozer..it's gas
 
Hi troy25, Sorry I can't help with the winch or the reverser. That is the only thing I haven't touched on my H3. The engine is very similar to the Allis D15 tractor basically the only difference is the fuel pump, the tractor was gravity where the dozer had a mechanical fuel pump. Most switch them to electric I have keep mind mechanical. There were two different engines though the G149 and the G160. It seems about tractor number (only a Guess)8200 or around 1965 it switch from the G149 to the larger G160. Complete rebuild kits are available for both engines you just need to look around. Also just curious why you think the reverser is slipping and not the steering clutches? They may be just out of adjustment.

If you think your fwd reverser is slipping it can be adjusted through the access panel on the side. If you get yourself a manual for the H3 you can see it all in detail. If you have a manual of a D14 or D15 it's essentially the same the only thing is that they have it as a high/low instead. If you search previous threads on all the mentioned models you'll get the details for doing the adjustments. You can check threads on the other site also.
