I have an old dump truck also a dump trailer (home made) with the same kind of hyd pump and cyclinder, they have a scissor type lift, and the frame work back to the pivot point.. I think these were real popular back in the 40's 50's,, my dump truck is a 70, gets used daily and I need a seal but do not know the name of the manufacturer, would anyone know? has a nut in the middle of the cyclinder you remove to refill with oil,, if you put too much in the nut has a relief valve in it. thanx Steve

Who knows cause without pictures that describes nearly every dump hoist made! but if you disassemble it and take the seal and the measurements to a hydraulic shop they will get you a seal. Even if you know the brand it a a good chance the company is long gone or doesn't have parts listings that far back anyhow.

lol, well, guess your right, customer wants me to work on the wknd, won't be able to put more oil in if thing sits loaded overnite,, pump and cyclinder are one unit,, id say it was the most popular one built, but yrs go by, herd gets thinned out on who knows whats what... thanx .,, Steve

I can tell you most popular one around here was a Garwood, but they had rollers that wedged in. Especially years ago most popular was very local. No one ordered one online etc. If you needed a hoist it was what the local dealer carried that's why you see so many. Honestly tho regardless of brand matching it up is best bet for that vintage. Often times seal bores have been modified too over the years to use what was on the shelf etc so buying a kit if available may not get the right parts anyhow

Most of those old cylinders used a v or rope packing held in place by a clamp on cylinder end. As the other poster said just take it apart and go to looking ,won,t be hard to find something that will work .

A lot of Anthony, DayBrook, Garwood, some Perfection and others used that hoist.

You need to do some cleaning and see if you can find any tags.

Also a good Hyd. shop can help.
