what kind of winch?

on the interstate I saw Kamotsu 65 being hauled. Had 3 winches as an implement attached to the back; larger winch in the middle below & 2 slightly smaller winches above & off to each side. Know what the purpose is? Hadn't seen this arrangement before.

Could have been pipe layers with the side boom off.

am familiar with sidebooms on the side. Maybe its a back boom? Never heard of one. Didn't seem to have places to attach a boom.

Seen something like you describe here in the UK being used for stringing power lines to the pylons,don't know if it was purpose made for the job or not,about the side booms they usually have a two spool CCU (cable control unit) same one as used for a pull scraper.
