T-6 starter ring gear

I bought a t-6 recently and it is hand start
and I would like to switch it over to
electric start I have everything for the
switch over except the ring gear. The
flywheel measures 15.375 so it isn't a
standard m flywheel.Im having a hard time
locating a ring gear does anyone know where
I could find one? Thanks in advance!

Tractor Data says the T6 sports a C248 gas engine, its probably used in other applications and there may be one in a junk yard near you, I looked round and failed to find one that size, the nearest is a JD one that a little bit smaller, yours needs to be 15.375 the JD one is 15.171 .204 smaller that would mean taking off .102 from your f/wheel,it will probably work if you cannot find a source, the link below will take you to a Indian site that makes all sorts of stuff.

Ring gears

The MD,ID, UD, WD,TD6 61 series has the same block. As my poor memorey serves me the T6 has the same block. Obviously some of the internals would be for gas. I can't imagine they would use a different ring gear even if the flywheel was different and I don't know that answer.I do think YT sells the ring gear for the diesel but if not they are available. If I remember i'll measure one tomorrow. best, chuck.

I have a 53 T-6 and get lots of parts from a place here in Mid Mo. ZImmerman Tractor, lots of International Crawler parts. the number is 573-378-7210, located near Versailles, MO. Let me know if you need more info
