CASE 610 front idler seals

I am looking for the seals for the front idlers on my CASE 610. They are a C/R seal #40612. I went to three different bearing supply shops in my area and none of them could sorce this seal. It must be a one off item or something. I thought it might be worth a shot here, maybe sombody has a few from and old stock of parts.

Last time I needed seals I went to Sadler's in Dubuque, they had what I needed NAPA? Most places can get them or cross reference them for you
 
I tried that. no cross reference that we could find. They are an odd ball size. However, I'm sure that the front idlers on these old crawlers have to cross over between brands. I can't see them being unique to one brand or another, or would they be??
 
That's what I have done. I have taken the old seal in to the supplier and had them measure it as well. This seal is long obsolete. However, with a little machining I'm sure I can make a different seal work. Just have to get creative, but not before I exhaust my efforts in finding the correct one. Of course $$ comes in to ply as well.
 
Called my supplier with that number....said his book skips over a few numbers in that sequence. Like was said, may have to make a sleeve for a different o.d.
I assume you tried a Case construction dealer also.
 
Fred if your OD is 2.875 and the shaft is 1.75 try seal # D29138 at your local Case Heavy Equipment dealer. Shows 15 in stock in Canada. Seal is od = 2.879 shaft 1 3/4" for bore thickness of 2.75 seal is 1/2" thick
 
It seems to be an odd ball size. Plan is to look for a OD 4.44" and as close to 2.625 shaft as I can find. Then machine a new spacer for that seal to ride on. I just haven't had time to search that much in the last few evenings. Thanks for the reply however!
 
I may have found a Timken seal that will work. I have them on order and should see them before Christmas. I'll post the number if they fit.
