I have an old JCB 3CIII. Engine is getting pretty weak. Don't use it enough to really justify dumping a whole lot of money into it. Has the Leyland 4/98 engine. Anyone know where a guy might find a decent used one here in the US?

Thanks

Rick

If your engine is showing good oil pressure that would indicate that the crank is ok and an in frame overhaul can be done,ie fit new pistons, liners, bearings and regrind the valves, the engine has wet liners that come out easy, there are overhaul kits advertised on ebay for less than $1k,you can have a look on Diesel Engine Trader and Machinery Trader under dismantling machines for a whole engine.

Oil pressure isn't great. That's why I was trying to price a used engine. See which way would be cheaper.

Thanks

There are lot of those engines in my neck of the woods, the UK but you would have to sell a kidney to pay for the shipping'there are a few on Machinery Trader at the link below but the could be just as far away.

I think the one in Utah is a complete machine. I just need the engine.
