fiat allis fl10c

went to move my FL10c yesterday and started right up, checking antifreeze etc.

problem is it will not throttle up.........linkage seems stiff like a stick is stuck in it......wouldn't run out full rpm at all.

when parked was fine.....noticed last couple of times used the throttle was stiff.........any ideas where to start on this.......

appreciate it.........wish I had found it first of week when it was in the upper 70's THANKS Scott

Is it all linkage or a cable? What you are describing is very much the nature of cables especially this time of year. They slowly deteriorate on the inside over some years and then when the weather turns colder they refuse to cooperate. If you have linkages and rods and/or a friction disc to control throttle lever setting it's all a matter of getting everything loosened up and lubricated. Some cables can be brought back to working order by totally soaking them in some form of penetrating fluid or diesel. Nearly always I end up buying a new cable. Make sure and price them before ordering ...some places are very expensive. In one application for me the dealer quoted $300 plus. I went to a place where they custom build cables and the same cable was $90.

thank you very much for the information will report back after I inspect. It has been kept under cover so Not sure what happen.

If it has sat for any length of time the rack in the injection pump is probably sticky/sticking. If it's sat and your not using any kind of additive, the problem is even more likely.

In fact, I just got the injection pump pulled off an older 555 Ford backhoe for a customer. It had set for less than 2 months and would send no fuel to the injectors. I had to take it to the fuel shop to get it's guts unstuck.

Firstly it is not a cable.

Secondly take out the floor plates and make sure that the decellorator linkage is free and working as it ought.
