Komatsu d21p-6 cutting clutch problem

My Komatsu dozer worked fine when I parked it in the barn 4 months ago. When I got it out last saturday, the left cutting clutch was dead. You could pull the leaver out but nothing happened. I worked it for 6 hours hoping that whatever it was, would break loose. There was a couple times that I would keep pulling and releasing the left leaver to try to get it to working..... it would start working then the left side would seize up. I could stop for 30 seconds then back to square one, the left side was dead. However the left side would always pull. Thank you in advance for any help.

There are two levers on the dozer, the one on the left if pulled should make the dozer go to the left and the right one pulled should make it go right. Old schoolers (like myself) call them cutting clutches. They release the clutches on the side you pull then apply the brake on that side to make it cut to that side. Hope this helps.

thanks--never heard that term before---we always called them steering clutches. sounds like the left clutch is not releasing--have you checked out the left lever linkage and adjusted it? is the clutch release hydraulically assisted?
