lighter weight true backhoes

I realize weight is desired and beneficial on a backhoe that will be used for heavy work.

That all said, I am curious if there were any purpose built true backhoes less than 10000 lbs in weight. While a 3 point backhoe would likely be good enough for my occasional use, I am mainly wondering if there were any older purpose built hoes in the 7000 to 9000 lbs range? In this range I could still trailer the unit with a pick-up truck yet have a better machine than a 3 pt hoe.

Not really interested in the mini hoes either. Anything fit the bill that was plentiful and inexpensive?

(quoted from post at 16:26:48 10/01/16) 455 ford.

Couple different sites are showing the Ford 455 TLB combo at 12700 lbs for the Ford 455 which is more weight than I desire.

So far a Case 480 series is the lightest I have found ranging in the 9000 to 10700 range depending on hoe option and tranny option.

Simply wondering if there was something 1 step smaller than the Case 480 in a real hoe without going mini or add on sub-frame type.

John Deere made a 110 loader backhoe for
a few years that I believe was in the
6000 to 7000lbs range, the idea was to
be transportable with a regular pickup
and trailer. My Deere 210C loader
backhoe weighs 10500 which is lighter
than many full-size loader backhoe. I'm
curious what your weight reasons are,
transportation? Lawn damage? And are you
limited to a loader backhoe? I ask this
because a couple years ago I picked up a
7000lbs mini excavator and it gets way
more use than my loader backhoe
nowadays, in fact the loader backhoe is
almost just used as a loader now, the
excavator is so much more nimble and
manueverable and can spin 360 and put
the spoils much further away.

Yes I am familiar with the JD 110 that was essentially a Yanmar 4400 or 4500 compact tractor based unit. Those are a bit too pricey for my needs

As for the weight, the thing would mainly be a toy for me but it would get some use here and there. More use if I could easily transport it. I already have a dedicated backhoe trailer that will handle up to 12000 lbs. However my goal would be to use a pick-up to transport so would prefer to keep weight down a bit.

I move my 3500 Ford TLB with a 3/4 ton pickup very easily. I have even pulled it with my 1/2 ton a couple of times. I use a 14,000lb rated
gooseneck hitch trailer with brakes on both axles.

they did make a 380 based on the 885 David Brown industrial model, a 430CK or 530CK would also be lighter, of course they also made a 300/310/320 and 420B units before that all are lighter than a 480 or 580

My John Deere 300B backhoe-loader weighs just a hair over 10,000 lbs. Great machine.

I bought a L39 Kubota, backhoe has plenty of power & you can remove it to use the three point hitch & PTO. It is very similar to the JD 110.
