Before my father passed away, he purchased a Fiat Allis loader bearing the model FR10 and a presumed serial number of 78Y00224. I can't find any information in the equipment books to correspond with the presumed serial number, so I'm having trouble trying to identify a year. I am also wondering if the model is correct. Is there any other place on the machine where I might be able to find or cross-reference a number that would help pin down the year of manufacture? This unit threw a rod, so we're needing to determine its value to sell as is, or possibly repair then sell. Can anyone offer some help?

There is definitely a model called FR10. I don't know if you would consider the decals on the machine to be original and if so there would be little doubt that it's wrong. Judging by
the three digit serial # under 292 it would have to be a 1982 model. The 78Y is not mentioned in the serial # book. I don't know where on the machine you could confirm the
model and serial #, sometimes it goes missing if it was riveted on somewhere...or if it's stamped on it could be very faint under paint or grease. It's not easy to get good money
for a machine with the engine not running and needing major work. It's also risky trying to get your money back if you hire for such a repair.

CANT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION BUT YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL ON WHAT YOU DO AS FAR AS GETTING IT FIXED. IF IT WASNT RUNNING THEN THERE MAY BE MOEE THINGS WRONG WITH IT. IT CAN BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR DOZERS UNLESS YOU CAN DO IT YOUR SELF THEN IT STILL IS COSTLY. TAKE ALL THINGS IN CONSIDERATIONS. ALSO GO ON THE NET AND DO A SEARCH FOR THAT DOZER. LOTS OF INFORMATION OUT THERE. JUST MY 3 CENTS WORTH
