63 D6b Question

I have a a oil line problem with a 1963 D6b dozer we had to replace the oil pressure line and when we did it has a t fitting that connects to the back of the block via a reducer fitting. however there really isn't any way to tighten the fittings on the T fitting without removing the oil tank. we did manage to get it in and without leaking finally problem is the back of the T now rubs on the blade lever and moves the lines back and forth. this post is for an old farmer friend who doesn't do computers. he swears it has a 6000 series engine but doesn't know exactly what it is.
Q: is the t fitting supposed to have a second fitting going into the block?

Q: Is there a better way to tighten those fittings than 1/32nd of a turn at a time?

I assume since you say you had to use a reducer to connect to the block the Tee was the same sized on all three sides, and the extra standoff caused by the reducer is the problem. If that's the case try Mcmaster Carr. They have brass F-F-F tee's with female thread all around, with one side being reduced, and they also have F-M-F tees that may work also. With one of these you can probably reduce the amount the Tee sticks out, and eliminate the problem.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.
