my 763 bobcat will crank and run but wont move. it tries to move but locks up. I think it is my BICS system.
this is a Old bobcat 2002 I don't want to pour a lot of money into it. can I bypass the BICS system.

or what about just taking out the solenoids and caping them off.

my bob cat is stuck in the middle of the driveway, and I can't move it.

someone please help.

used similar age 773, it had a safety switch on the seat bar which had to be down to unlock travel function, possibly switch failure or safety bar not moving switch properly. also I believe there is a override position that allows use of some equipment like backhoe that can be manually moved with the bucket. hope I gave you some things to check. also there was a trouble shooting section in the manual

The white plastic blocks on the seat bar. They only unlock the foot peddles.

The drive parking brake or lift/tilt lock valve, that's done by a seat sensor or lap bar.

To check the system, look at the BICS computer on your right rear (as you sit in the seat). If ALL the lights aren't on, it won't work. The one that's not lit is where your problem is. IF yours has a light with the picture of a seat, then it has never been upgraded, and had the new computer installed that deletes the seat switch, which was always problematic.

Once you see which light is not lit, you can change the effected sensor, and you should be good to go.

If it's in your way, as you say it is, to TEMPORARILY bypass the BICS, raise the cab and look at the valve block. There should be a solenoid valve in it and a wire going to it, with a plastic warning tag on it. Unplug the wire, and hook the portion going to the solenoid to a 12V hot and ground.

This will unlock the hydraulics long enough to get it moved. DO NOT leave it hooked directly to 12V as it will burn up the solenoid (or so everything I have ever heard says).

Beyond that, there is no good way to bypass the BIC system, and I have tried. This mainly because the solenoid that unlocks everything, supposedly doesn't take a full 12V to operate. As such, make any movement after you hook to it fast, and don't forget to refuel it before taking it back out,

I guess my phone decided it knew more than I do. The last line should say to make sure to disconnect the wire after moving the machine, and to reconnect it (the wire to the solenoid) before putting the machine back in operation.

Don't know how I let this slip by me, but I've had my phone auto correct whole phrases like this before. I'd hate to know what "I" have said sometimes, without knowing I said it....LOL
