I have a JD-450G, it runs very well. They other day a friend was running it, spreading some base. He ran the tractor awhile and later told me that the tractor would not turn to the right. I went to look at the tractor and before I started to tear down anything I tried it, and it turned both directions, acted normal. I did not do a lot because it was very wet and I did not want to make a bunch of ruts in his freshly spread base. Any ideas as to why it would stop working, then appear to be working normally. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

sounds like it fails after working awhile but works before things get hot. When he first started working it, did it turn ok?

Yes it ran fine, I was running it that morning, it ran fine, he ran it that afternoon, but it was not run continuously. 2 dump trailers would dump then I spread the base, then about a 2 hour wait for the 2 trucks to return loaded, and it probably took 30 minutes to spread both loads.
