T6 Drive Sprocket

I am having a good set of tracks put on my T6 crawler and the sprockets are worn pretty badly. I don't work the crawler, just on and off trailer at shows and maybe a couple of Power Parades at shows, less than 5-7 mi per year total. Do I need to spend the extra $1000 to have the sprockets replaced or can I get by without doing this? Any thoughts would be appreciated, I am not a crawler expert.
Thanks in advance

There used to be a company that sold weld in sprocket inserts.I can't locate the info at the moment. These would work for you if the sprockets aren't worn down to nubs. Another option would be to locate a set of sprocket rims. You torch the old rim off at the spokes and weld these on. If you have good chains, either of these options would make the tractor drive steer and handle properly with out having the sprockets jumping and binding on the old sprocket teeth.

Good as in new or as in not as wore out? If just not as wore out I would say for the service you are giving it should be just fine with the old sprockets.

IF you ever hear it jump or skip a tooth you can be sure you need sprockets. What happens when it begins to jump it will wear out or crack the bushings in the track chain. Until it jumps a tooth will not hurt to run them just as long as the thing will move. Under no load like you are running a worn sprocket will work a long time.

I watched a guy that knew what he was doing cut off the sprocket teeth and mig weld a new tooth ring on. That was about a third the cost of buying new sprockets from IH. That was 25 years ago, and I imagine that bugger is still rolling.
