Removed the injector pump from my CASE 450b dozer, forgot to tie throttle back. How do i check to see if wieghts fell apart? Does any one know the timing ,is it 8 degs or tdc? thanks

Eight degrees BTDC sounds correct in my memory, but see if there's a decal on the valve cover that has timing and valve setting specs. Case put it on most of there engines. If pump is to be torn down for repair the lever does not need to be tied back. If it's going back on as is after other engine service it should be tied. If you look down inside and a weight is out of place you will see it. Tying the lever keeps just enough tension on the governor sleeve to keep them in place if the pump is handled roughly, meaning dropped.

Thanks for getting back to me,engine is painted over, pump was set at tdc when i removed it.That is what made me curious.
