Can some one tell me how to pull the left front axle out of my 1845 case uniloader. Looks as though I have to remove a link from the chain, bolts that hold the bearing assembly to the frame but not sure how the drive sprocket is fastened in place as I am not sure the sprocket will come out the hole when th hub is removed. I have a parts manual and have located a bearing kit for it as it is leaking a little oil now and if I get it apart I want to replace the oil seals and bearings while I have it apart. all help is appreciated. thanks norm

First remove Tire loosen 6 bolts that fasten Hudson to machine loosen chain adjusting bolt, slide hub back. Remove cover in cab by (rectangular shaped by your feet ) remove nut on axel take nuts off Hub assembly and remove hub

I found the nut on the back side of the drive gear. will I need a puller to take the hub out and just let the gear drop when the axle is taken out or try to support it somehow. thanks norm

I have a manual coming but it wont be here for awhile. I see how it all comes apart . The owner said the right side bearings have been replaced. he said it cost him $800 to fix them. Looks as though they were off at some time. They adjusted the chains extremely tight. There is no give at all. I think it would be awful hard on the bearings as tight as they are. I would think there should be some slack. The left side does have some. So I see how you adjust them but what do go buy to set them correctly. thanks norm

With wheel off ground you should be able to rock wheel back and forth slightly.wheel bearings are about 3 hours job each start to finish. Don't remember bearing kit price thinking about $150.00 from case. Can be bought cheaper online or ebay

Sort of thought there should be a little movement. the way they adjusted them there isn't any at all. I mean the chain is solid. I am going to lossen them some tomorrow. The left side may be a little to loose. looks as though there is a little oil leak on the front left. didn't know if I just grease it it might stop it or just by a kit for it. don't think the guy ever greased them. I have found the bearing kits on ebay and websites for around 40 dollars plus shipping. Its not going to be used that much. The guy said he paid 300 for the bearings from case. Hopefully what ever i do need I can buy it from some where besides case. Case is truly expensive. The chains and sprockets all look pretty good. thanks norm
