JD 450 Steering Clutches/ Brakes

I have a 450B and I know clutches and brakes can be accessed without pulling the final drives, is an older plain 450 the same way or do you have to pull the finals? Thanks for input.
 
Go down thru the top covers as you said, also split the tracks, remove the sprockets, then the 3 bolt cover over the drive gear. Find the set screw on the drive gear/drum, then remove the drive gear, and the inner drive shaft, then the clutch/brake assembly can be hoisted up out of the housing.
 
Yes, thank you I have redone the ones on my 450B, I just wanted to know if the older machines were the same. Will have to go look at it.
