Good Morning,
I am looking for someone with personal knowledge of the Case 310E dozer with the 188 diesel engine. I picked one up for a fair price. The engine needed rebuilt and it needs a couple rollers. I have rebuilt the engine and I am putting it back together. I have ran into a few problems. The first problem is the glow plugs. The front #1 cylinder glow plug is broke and I need to replace it. The glow plug in it is an autolite BH12-1. That crosses to the Champion CH3, but the length of the glow plow is too long for the #1 cylinder since it does not have enough clearance to clear the blade lift cylinder. Does anyone know of a replacement for the BH12-1 spark plug that is shorter than the CH3? My next question is this. On the later model 310G parts diagram it shows a glow plug in the hole that is directly in the center of the intake right below where the stand pipe goes up to connect to the oil bath canister. Does this single glow plug in that location do away with having glow plugs at all 4 cylinder locations on the newer ones? I would post pictures of what I am dealing with, but not sure how to on this site. Also needing an oil bath air cleaner canister and radiator if anyone has any leads.
