Came across this diamond in the ruff couple years ago hunting and finally went to go look at it Monday and took a bunch of pics: Somebody removed carb years ago I suspect. Pipe that joins bottom of rad to engine cooling system is disconnected to drain rad I suspect. Plugs were loose. I suspect someone was trying to un-sieze it. We poured diesel down cylinders to sit for a year lol. Its a gas engine. I'd love to bring it home yet owner wants driveway to remote property its on to be cleared of brush and windfall in exchange for it. Engine oil is clean and full. My wife would flip if I made time to bring it home :( Buddy I took with me said sprockets and track still good. I have other pics of tags, distributor, etc if anyone interested to see. If anyone here has stuff to post about it would be interesting to hear. I read on net somewhere jugs were made the way they were to easily be worked on. Also inspection covers on sides of block to work on con rod and crank bearings.

The sprockets do appear to be in good shape, hard to see the rest of the undercarriage, but the one close up of one pin/bushing, seems the rails, (track links) are good too. The pin bosses don't appear to be hitting the track roller flanges (happens when the rails are getting worn out)

It has skeleton pads, or whatever the optional pad type that is, these are not the standard track pad.

Does it have both of the engine side covers ? Those are usually missing on these era tractors, nice they are still there, even if just the one, you have something to work from or repair.

The dozer kit on it is interesting, its a copy of an earlier LeTourneau with the over head ridge beam. The power or cable control on the back of the tractor does not look like a LeTourneau, but its possible, they did have larger data plate/tags.

The twenty if I recall is not as common as the twenty two, (I don't have my reference book handy) Nice find, post the other photos if you can, the serial number will help determine the year of the tractor.

If your not like me and don't have more projects
then you can handle get it but don't invest to much
into it you will get plenty into it restoring it would be
a nice piece at a show probably one of a kind and
you can't buy better therapy then working on it just
don't get in a hurry

nice cat, im working on a 20 also, so far ive found parts to be very difficult to find, as they were made from 1928 thru 1932, and a lot of stuff is unique to them, you might find a carb to fit by measurements and some tinkering, i looked for a internal piece for the carb mine has, and found there basically are none of the original brass model, however john deere used a similar model and that may fit on the cat too, like others have said those are an optional set of tracks the one im working on has the regular style on it , good luck
