All is Chalmer HD5B Dozer

The dozer was made in 1949 and I need the serial number for the engine, but we can't find it on the engine where it should be. Can anyone help?

Have a Detroit diesel in it ?

Yes. 2 cylinder 71 series.

etroit diesel put them in one of two places on all engines. On the right side at the top front corner of the block or on the right side rear of the block down between the last two air boxes.
