64 Case 530 Construction King loader tractor weld question.

My 530 Case CK loader tractor has had the factory loader frame repaired in the last 50 years with a couple weld on plate fixes that have worked just fine. But now one of the stick welding fixes around the top connecting tube (the one above the tank that runs from side to side on the loader frame) has a couple inch long crack along the rather shabby weld. And I am being nice when I say shabby... but it held for years prior to me owning it.

The hydraulic fluid oozes out of the crack and air is slowing the loader way down. It would be tough to work around the gas tank (gasser) as well as the filter area to repair the Crack but may be possible. Not being a welder....does the loader have to be drained? The Crack is ABOVE the fluid level when not running by several inches. It spews quite a bit after shutdown until pressure is released. Love this old worker loader tractor but now it's marking it's territory with hydraulic and needs attention.

What say the knowing .... I remember doing the loader removal of my 69 580 CK and do not look forward to a complete removal on this 64 530 unless I have to.......it has a 800 lb concrete counterweight setup that is a beast.

Thanks for any insight. Ralph in northern Illinois.

Get hold of an experienced equipment welder and he will know what to do and do it properly and safely, gas tanks are deadly even when empty.
