I have a case 310 dozer and I have a hydraulic cyclinder leaking. It's the lift cyclinder. The cyclinder size is 3" and the rod size is 1.25". I called the case dealer but was told they can't help me till I get a serial number. I can't find a serial number anywhere.
Here is what I know about the dozer to try to help narrow done if it's an f g or whatever.
It has 5 rollers on bottom of track
It has the lever to work hydraulic for blade mounted on right side
It's a Diesel engine
It has the oil air filter on it
Base paint coat looks to be red
4 way blade
Has a 4 speed trans
The engine idle is a lever up n down
It has 310 on side but no letters

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to figure out the letter m maybe close to a year to try and order a seal kit for the cylinder.

On the left side of the engine where the dip stick is , remove the side plate that is bolted to the hard nose and engine cowl , should be held on by three bolts , after removing side plate the serial # should be on the frame in front of the dip stick , that is where my serial # is on my Case 450s.

If its the lift cylinder you will need to know the blade model. Your best bet is take the seal out and take it to your local napa or something like that and they can get you what you need. The case 310 actually has the name /model number on the right hand side of the seat frame. if its still there. case 310s were fitted with different blades/buckets etc so if your working on an add on to that dozer you will need to know the model number of that piece of equipment. There will be a parts manual for that blade some where.

early ones have a tie rod type cylinder, later ones have a screw in gland, if its the later look for a stamped # in the gland and or cylinder tube, also where is the dozer control at, on the dash no later than a 310F on the rh arm rest a 310G, a few pics of it will help me and others get you a better idea on year
