Case 580D Transmission issues

Working on this 580D, seems to be an issue with the synchronizer assembly. Anyone have one gall itself to a point of seizure? Drives in 1st and 2nd gear, no neutral or 3rd and 4th. Thank You for any insights, Dale
 
That sounds more like the shifter has come out of line with the shift rails.
Have you checked that?

If it's badly worn it can do that and only move one rail.

Hi Tom, the shifter fork is in very good condition as well as the collar, no wear observed. The tractor will drive when the collar assy. is in neutral(the cover has been removed to watch this.) It must be seized(galled). Thanks Dale
 
It looks like you will have to tear down the gearbox but before you do did the box run dry of oil,if not I would check the nut on the front of the countershaft,if that nut tightened up on its own it will lock first and second gear together so I would check it,take off the drive shaft and front cover to access it,the nut is tighten to only 4-8 pound inches no load rolling torque.
