JD 410 hydraulic issue

Hey guys,
My dad has a JD 410
backhoe, what I call a
410 straight. Before
an A or B model. He
doesn't have a service
manual for it and is
having some issues
with the loader on it.
I used to work as a
heavy equipment
mechanic, but in the 9
years I did that,
which I quit doing as
a day job 5 years ago,
I don't think I ever
even saw another 410
straight. Let alone
worked on one. I know
the hydraulic systems
in the early ones are
kind of funny, and I'm
in the middle of
putting a roof on my
house and trying to
get our other farma
equipment around, so I
was hoping someone has
seen this issue before
so I don't have to
spend a whole lot of
time messing around
troubleshooting it as
much. So, with that
being said, here's the
issue:
It was working fine up
until a couple weeks
ago, good speed and
power. Then the loader
started where it was
only moving very
slowly pretty much all
at once. If you ran
the engine wide open,
it would move a little
bit faster, but not
much. Now, dad says
that it won't really
raise the loader at
all. I guess I didn't
ask him if it was just
lift and lower, or if
it was curl and dump
as well, but I'm
assuming it's all
loader functions. I
haven't power checked
the cylinders yet, but
I can't see where that
would be an issue
right now, but maybe
so. I'm assuming it
has a priority valve
in it, so I had him
try to steer it and or
brake it at the same
time while trying to
lift the loader, and
he said it made no
difference. It has new
hydraulic fluid and a
new filter. The
backhoe and
stabilizers work fine,
and at normal speed. I
believe dad said when
you pull the stick
back to raise the
loader, it doesn't lug
the engine at all at
an idle. Any ideas?
Maybe something stuck
in the loader relief
valve? Does it use one
relief in the loader
control valve for both
functions, or is there
a separate one for
each loader function?
I'd be able to tell
myself if I went and
looked at it, but
right now I've been so
busy I haven't made it
over to the other farm
lately. Thanks for any
insight anyone has on
this!

Had a 410--now have a 410C Loaded my truck for a week--worked perfect. Next load went into the pile and wouldn't lift. Just that quick. It was that big expensive front pump...
