My father has a 1989 JCB backhoe that is experiencing a steering problem. He says the steering wheel is spinning freely unless he presses straight down on it, then it turns the tires. He is having to press down harder and harder every time he uses it. It has plenty of hydraulic fluid. Can anybody offer a suggestion on what could be causing this?
