Anyone buy parts from these people?(general gear)Are they as good as genuine cat parts and will they hold up as well?Thanks!!Dave A

I've seen their site, but never bought anything from them. Looks like they carry used, as well as aftermarket parts though.

I usually get my stuff from either Iron Peddlers here in NC, or Offroad Equipment Parts out in Tenn.

Regardless of where the parts come from most aftermarket stuff is going to be just fine for most jobs. Even CAT has an aftermarket line now called their "CAT Classic" parts.

The only issue we have ever had with any aftermarket stuff was actually with a CAT Classic fuel transfer pump about 12 years ago. I believe Dad went through three pumps before he finally got disgusted and tore one down. At that point he realized the tolerances in the bushings used were too loose for the seals to seat and seal on the shafts. He wound up getting a kit and rebuilding the 'new' pump to ever get it to seal and work like it should.

That aside, most aftermarket parts are perfectly fine to use......and alot cheaper than actual CAT branded parts.

I have bought used parts from them and new. I personally have nothing but good things to say about them. Their used stuff is not rusty.
